    Hello respectfully,

    Since updating to latest version I got notification in WP dashboard:
    Popup Maker detected an issue with your file system's ability and is unable to create & save cached assets for your popup styling and settings. This may lead to suboptimal performance. Please check your filesystem and contact your hosting provide to ensure Popup Maker can create and write to cache files.

    I can not link the page with popup because it is behind a login (I can provide a test account if necessary via some private channel).

    I have checked all the steps described as “Debugging Filesystem Errors” that is posted at https://docs.wppopupmaker.com/category/471-problem-solving and my installation passes all the steps successfully (nothing in debug log except my time of accessing it).

    I am using latest WP, with EvolvePlus premium theme running on PHP 7.4.33. As security I have installed SucuriSecurity as well as NinjaFirewall. I doubt that issue is on my side since there were no error with previous versions of Popup Maker (at least not shown in the dashboard).

    Error came with latest version of PM plugin and I am looking for solution.

    Thank you.

    Hi @justaniceguy,

    Sorry to hear you’ve encountered issues.

    The notification should have two options below it. See here: https://share.getcloudapp.com/P8uNBxg4

    Have you tried clicking either of the links? If you have and still encountered trouble with your popups, kindly send us more information by sending a ticket here: Support Request – Popup Maker

    We’ll wait for your response.

    Thank you Kim for such a quick reply.

    I have tried to click “try to create cache again” few times but nothing happened. After your reply here I have clicked “keep current method” and notification has disappeared.

    Should I consider this as solved issue and “create & save cached assets” will work as it was working until plugin update ?

    I’m seeing the same error, and clicking the “try to recreate again” option has no effect.
    There are no errors on the server, nor in Popup Makers own error log.
    Clicking the keep current method caused the error message to go away in my instance.
    On checking the misc options, “disable asset caching” was still cleared.

    I checked the permissions on pum-site-styles.css and pum-site-scripts.js which were both still dated as April 2022, and set to 644 which I’ve changed manually to 755 (to match the pum folder).

    I don’t have any active pop-ups at present and I’ll try to spend a bit more time on this tomorrow. (I suspect the April 2022 cache files was the last time I had an active pop-up !!).

    Hi,

    I face the same issue as others described above. After updating to latest version (1.18.0) the notification appeared, and I also don’t see any errors neither in Popup Maker’s error log nor in server logs. I checked all the debug steps that the link mentioned in the notification, and my installation passes all the steps as well.

    I checked the pum folder in wp-content/uploads, it is present, and has the two files in it. The permissions seem good (folder 755, files 644), but I tried to change everyting to 777, and the problem was still existing.

    Then I restored the previous version (1.17.1) and the notification is gone, everything seem to work as expected again.

    So I think there is something in the latest update, that messed up something related to the cache. Could you please look into it?
    Thanks in advance!

    I also am having the same issue on several sites, hosted on different servers.

    I just found your instruction about testing on https://httpstatus.io/
    I entered both URL’s of the JS and CSS files and both files were returned as status 200. The files exist, the server has access to them.
    Clicking Try to Create Cache Again doesn’t resolve the problem because the same error box and 3 options appear each time. The error log doesn’t show any errors, only that the log was accessed.

    Popup Maker has been installed for several years on the sites the errors are displaying on, and I’ve not seen this error message before today. Nothing’s changed on the servers the sites are hosted on.

    thank you

    Same issue here. I restored the previous version (1.17.1) and the notification is gone.

    Same problem. The plugin uses JS and CSS files under plugins/popup-maker instead of uploads/pum. Related settings can’t be saved successfully.

    I manage several websites and am getting the same message on all of them. I do see the cache files in /wp-content/uploads/pum/ but they are not being updated when I make changes to popups. When I open one it says

    /**
     * Do not touch this file! This file created by the Popup Maker plugin using PHP
     * Last modified time: Nov 12 2021, 11:15:19
     */

    Hello everyone,

    Thank you for reporting this. We have already brought this up to our development team to take a look at.

    We’ll let you know once we’ve received feedback.

    We appreciate your patience very much!

    I have the same error and one additional remark.. The error message is also shown to users with the editor capability – it should only be shown to administrators. Please check that too..

    Thanks @kimmyx. Following – same issues across multiple sites and server environments.

    This has been an issue here for years on multiple sites and environments. Same, deal have followed the the steps in the Debugging Filesystem Errors page. I’ve literally dismissed that notice over a hundred times by now. Usually I just patch out the notice when updating but forgot to do that this time so I’m here to check if there will finally be a real resolution.

    I hope you’re able to solve it this time!

    I also ran into this problem after the update.
